Sir Manasseh Meyer International School (SMMIS) is an academically rigorous, non-profit International school with state of the art facilities, where we nurture enquiring minds. At SMMIS cultivating wonder is a way of life. We are a small school with a strong ethical foundation and engender a commitment to social action. Our children are encouraged to see themselves as global citizens, with charity and volunteering a strong aspect of school life. We have a strong, internationally trained staff body, who ignite a passion for lifelong learning, creative thinking and inspire a curiosity in the world around us. With over 25 nationalities, everyone’s identity is celebrated.

Our team has engineered a holistic bespoke internationally minded curriculum, providing our diverse student body with the very best from around the world. Learning at SMMIS is broad, varied, contemporary and enriching. We focus on collaboration and enquiry, skills we believe stand the test of time. We use the frameworks of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curricula (IMYC) and offer the Cambridge iGCSE’s in Grades 9-10. We follow the British National Curriculum Literacy and Singapore Maths Curriculum.

Academics

SMMIS seeks to inculcate not just the knowledge that your child will need but also the learning skills, habits, values and attitudes that will guide them as they journey towards becoming responsible young men and women with something to give back to our world. We offer a learning experience for students, delivered by internationally trained staff, that is rigorous, broad and relevant.

Our two boys attended SMMIS for 5 years, and between them covered Grades 1-7. Most importantly, every single day, they left and returned home with smiles on their faces. They thrived socially and academically. Where they needed support to develop particular strengths they were stretched appropriately, and where they faced challenges, being a small school, they were given strong, personalised support. The school also nurtured new interests that we believe will be passions for life, around sports, poetry and music. We also loved that while the school has a strong Jewish ethos, they were able to interact and form friendships with children from all countries and backgrounds. Our children will always have fond memories of their happy years at SMMIS.

I’ve been a student to SMMIS for 6 years and finished my last year here. What is so great about this school is the great environment it’s created and the opportunities it provides for students to grow. The schools’ Jewish values really makes the school special as it teaches us to grow into better people and it really makes good friends. SMMIS is unique in the sense that students really enjoy coming to school to learn, and they don’t fall behind because of the immense amount of attention that the teachers give the students, and that is what I love about this school.

SMMIS is more than just our children’s school, it is our community and “home away from home.” Since joining, we have been blown away with the ease with which our children have settled into school life at SMMIS. When moving to Singapore, we hoped to find a school with a family feel where we can be assured our three children will not only thrive academically, but where there is an importance placed on values. We found just that at SMMIS. We appreciate how there is an excellent teaching team which contributes to the development and awakening of our children with respect for values, kindness, good humour and well-being. We could not ask for more. The care and individual attention from the teachers have exceeded our expectations and most important of all, our three children love going to school every day! We highly recommend SMMIS.
