SMMIS Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
At SMMIS, our parent body is very much involved in the life of the school, with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), responsible for organising many different events in order to create a sense of community amongst our families. We see the partnership with parents as the key to our and our students’ success.
In line with the SMMIS Vision, Mission, and Values, the purpose of the SMMIS PTA is to connect our vibrant and diverse community of parents, teachers, and staff as we work together for the benefit of the school community through the following values of building, enriching, connecting, and growing.
How we will do that:
- Build a support network for parents – through knowledge and experience via our class group platforms of engagement as well as school wide gatherings
- Enrich student life through programming that heightens school spirit, encourages family togetherness and promotes humanitarian efforts within our community
- Connect our school and families through social events in and out of school and encourage parents to become involved in the school community
- Grow the volunteer base and the funding for initiatives in order to support the annual goals of the PTA in tandem with the mission and vision of the school
I feel happy in this school, the teachers are kind and my friends are very nice. I have friends from many countries in my class- Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Israelis and Koreans, and we all play and talk together and share some things about our homes and countries and culture.

I love the activities we do in class. I like how we learn by exploring and not reading from the textbook all the time. It is less lecture, more active learning now and I love school.
